Ultrasound

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a noninvasive and very safe procedure which utilizes high frequency sound waves to produce images of your internal organs using a hand-held device called a transducer in which the data is computed, and images is produced on a TV monitor.

Ultrasound Scans

Ultrasound is used to create images of soft tissue structures, such as the gallbladder, liver, kidneys, pancreas, bladder, and other organs and parts of the body. Ultrasound can also measure the flow of blood in the arteries to detect blockages. Ultrasound testing is safe and easy to perform.

WHICH ARE THE GENERAL AREAS COMMONLY EXAMINED?

Common ultrasound requested include the abdomen, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, uterus, ovaries, bladder, pelvis, kidneys, thyroid, breasts, testes, surrounding muscles, leg veins and obstetrics (pregnancy), ultrasound guided biopsies are also commonly performed.

WHAT IS ECHO?

Echocardiogram is a safe and painless test that uses sound waves to create pictures of the heart and its related structures. The test provides information about the size, function of the heart chambers and study the motion of the heart valves. A type of echo called colour doppler ultrasound shows how well blood flows through the chambers

And valves of your heart.

WHAT IS CAROTID DIPPLER ULTRASOUND?

This ultrasound scan demonstrates the carotid arteries in the neck. The carotid arteries in the neck. The carotid arteries are two of the main arteries that supply blood to the brain. It is useful in detecting any abnormalities or blockage within the carotid arteries that are usually caused by plaque containing cholesterol. This plaque could form a blockage that can lead to a stroke.
